The storyline of Pokémon Fire Red remains faithful to the original Pokémon Red. Players begin their journey in Pallet Town as a young Pokémon Trainer. They receive their first Pokémon from Professor Oak and embark on a quest to become the Pokémon Champion by defeating the Elite Four and the current Champion. Along the way, players must collect eight Gym Badges, thwart the schemes of the nefarious Team Rocket, and complete their Pokédex by capturing and evolving Pokémon.
